Boaventura de Sousa Santos reports on the impact of informal accusations and institutional censorship that threaten to erase his intellectual and political career.
"On 7 April 2023, I learned of the existence of a book chapter containing serious allegations against me, other CES researchers and the institution itself. I was about to embark on a trip to Chile, and it was there that I realised the magnitude of the public impact the chapter was having. Media coverage peaked during the week of 10 April. It was during this period that a wave of cancellations began that continues to this day and threatens to bury a lifetime of work, without any formal complaint having been filed in court (...)"
